Together with African and Bavarian, but also European and international actors from science, industry and the public sector, the Chair of Circular Economy participated in the Cooperation Lounge Bavaria – Africa, organized by the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFor).
During a digital breakout session on “Entrepreneurship and digitalization as enablers towards a Circular Economy”, moderated by Vanessa Heinrich (TUMCS) and Rex Babo (Kumasi Hive, Ghana), Dr. Christian Schütz (Fraunhofer Institute for Durability and Systems Reliability), Mehdi Bhouri/Hamze Al-Zamkan (TUMai) and Ivy Badu (RecycleUp Ghana) were invited as speakers. The participants gained exciting insights into the diversity of digital innovation in both Germany and Ghana and its potential for transforming society towards a circular economy. Particularly in Ghana, a lively start-up scene has developed in recent years, which has set itself the goal of closing loops by means of entrepreneurial innovations. In order to promote an open exchange, the Q&A session afterwards gave the opportunity to ask and discuss open questions.
