The ReNaRe workshop “Circular management of electrolyzer materials”, which was held by DECHEMA e.V. in Frankfurt on November 9th, 2023, dealt with electrolyzer information management in the context of the circular economy. Together with representatives from industry and research, our PhD student Sarah Haßlacher identified the various stakeholders within the electrolyzer life cycle. Based on the resulting information requirements, the consortium developed initial approaches for applying circular economy strategies to the electrolyzer economy. The workshop was supported by a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Magnus Fröhling from the Technical University of Munich, who gave the participants an insight into the circular economy, its challenges and opportunities embedded in the electrolyzer landscape.
