On October 26, 2023, the conference “How to improve circular economy in healthcare?” took place at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study in Garching.

Svenja Klose presented our work in the FUMA project and participated in the panel discussion. There are still major organizational, technological and legal barriers to the implementation of circular solutions in medicine. However, the presentations at the conference showed that many good ideas (and practical approaches) to implementing the circular economy in healthcare already exist today.

The progress that has been made within the last few years in Circular Economy for Healthcare is remarkable. If the trend continues at this pace, and some major obstacles are removed, healthcare workers, patients and the environment can all benefit. We are excited to play an active role in shaping this positive development.
